About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Sheetmetal Programmer and Estimator to join our progressive Metal-Tech Industries' team in our Wacol, Queensland location. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for programming our state-of-the-art CNC Sheetmetal machinery, as well as providing accurate estimates for customer projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Programming CNC Sheetmetal machinery to produce high-quality components and parts
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to optimise production processes
  • Provide detailed cost estimates for customer projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness
  • Liaise with the production team to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation related to production activities
  • Support the broader engineering team as required

What we're looking for

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in CNC sheetmetal programming and operation
  • Strong working knowledge of CAD/CAM software and CNC machine programming
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to optimise production processes
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety
  • Experience in Trumpf Boost would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Solidworks or the use of 3D software is required
