A sought-after role offering a qualified Bookkeeper or Accountant the opportunity to work for a well-established group of companies.

The companies focus on purchasing, recycling and selling which will give the successful applicant a unique and broad range of experience in a unique industry.

You will be responsible for all finance and payroll related functions. This role will offer you a varied and busy working environment coupled with a long-term opportunity.

The successful applicant will have permanent Australian residency, superior written and verbal English communication skills, be self-motivated, be able to problem solve, work with minimal supervision and constantly endeavor to improve existing procedures.

You must present a sound work ethic, with a minimum of 5 years experience with Xero accounting system and relevant work experience in the accounting and bookkeeping field. Experience in the sales / purchasing industries will be an advantage. . You will also have an excellent understanding of MS Excel as well as general computer skills.

This is a position for a candidate who is willing to take responsibility for their work and aspires to become an integral part of a small team.

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • End-to-end AP and AR with collections including data entry
  • Bank reconciliation for all accounts
  • Monitoring sales trends, cash flow and maintaining all the company accounts.
  • Monthly BAS preparation and lodgments
  • Weekly Payroll and super payments for up to 25 employees.
  • Annual reporting of Payroll Tax
  • Support of external accountant during and at end of year.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports and present to management
  • monitoring all outstanding and over due accounts, sales orders and customer credits.
  • Ad hoc tasks as required.

. You must have a minimum of 5 years previous experience in a similar role.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
