This temporary position is responsible for ensuring the internal and external accounts of the for the Organisations in SA are accurately processed in a timely manner.

**We are looking for a Finance Officer with XERO experience to work with one of our clients in Adelaide**
- 3 months contract
- Part time hours - 25 hours per week
- 9.30-2.30pm x5 working days (office based role)

**About the role**:
This temporary position is responsible for ensuring the internal and external accounts of the for the Organisations in SA are accurately processed in a timely manner.

Under the direction of the General Manager of Finance and Treasurer you will be responsible for:

- Operating the accounting package (currently Xero), and ensure its accuracy in terms of transaction posted at an account and cost centre code level and GST codes.
- Processing General Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable invoicing (including personal expense reimbursements) as well as ensure source data is reflected accurately within other databases for reporting purposes.
- Processing Corporate Credit Cards to ensure accurate reconciliations and reporting of the same.
- Controlling and managing the bank reconciliation process within in and outside of the Finance system.
- Preparing and posting of month end related journals as directed by the Finance Officer or Treasurer.
- Providing detailed listings of all outstanding invoices during the month end process and escalate any issues that arise to the General Manager
- Maintain an accurate database for all billed and unbilled milestone payments relating to government grants to be invoiced as well as all sundry income contracts.
- Prepare, post and reconcile all event income and liaise with Community Services Coordinator and Treasurer where necessary.
- Provide support to the Management Accountant during End of Year audits including collating of financial information as requested by the external auditors.
- Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate month end reconciliations particularly around Trade Receivables, Trade Payables, Banking, Clearing & GST accounts.
- Supporting the Management Accountant in the monitoring of performance against budgets by supplying support information.
- Perform other accounts administrative duties consistent with the position/department where required.

**About you**:

- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Communication skills appropriate for various audiences with differing degrees of financial knowledge.
- Experience with Xero.
- Medium to high Proficiency in Excel and a strong exposure to commercial financial systems.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines while remaining calm under pressure.
- An ability to think broadly, take a whole of organisation view and see beyond "just the numbers"
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a productive team member
- Willing to learn and be open to tasks at varying levels.
- Strong grasp of Financial Accounting Processors and having significant exposure to a small organisation
