About the role:
Our Electrification & Innovation (E&I) business drives Australia’s transition to cleaner energy by developing sustainable, scalable electrification products and incubating transformative ideas.

The Strategy Analyst supports E&I’s growth by delivering analysis-driven strategies, synthesizing insights on customer needs, market trends, legislation, and emerging technologies. This role provides thought leadership and strategic recommendations to inform AGL’s electrification strategy.

Part of the Innovation and Strategy Value Stream, this role focuses on exploring and validating new products alongside E&I’s broader portfolio. A strong understanding of Australia’s electrification market is essential.

What you’ll be doing:
- Market Analysis: Use expertise and data to analyze trends, competitors, benchmarks, and global examples to identify opportunities for E&I.- Feasibility Assessment: Evaluate product concepts using market insights, commercial analysis, benchmarking, and case studies, leveraging expertise from the Electrification Technologist Lead when needed.- Regulatory Analysis: Assess legislative and regulatory changes, providing strategic recommendations and execution plans for AGL and E&I.- Strategy Communication: Present clear, data-driven insights and recommendations to E&I leadership and senior stakeholders to support decision-making.- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate across AGL and with external partners to gather insights and explore opportunities.- Reporting: Maintain reports and tools to track strategic initiatives and support internal and external reporting cycles.

About you:
- Demonstrated experience working within a strategy role in the energy market, either in house or as a consultant.- Ability to translate complex problems and solutions into a clear, concise set of recommendations and actions.- Strong attention to detail with a focus on analytical and problem-solving capability, anticipating challenges and devising strategic solutions to ensure success.- Excellent communication and presentation skills, enabling clear articulation of visions and objectives.- Experience in Agile methodologies and tools.- Strong organisational skills, managing multiple initiatives ensuring timely delivery.
