Standard hours of work will be 35 hours per week Monday to Sunday on a On-Call casual basis.

**About the Role**

The primary purpose of this role is to connect Library visitors and users with information, literacy, technology and lifelong learning by delivering an exceptional customer experience. The position plays a leadership role supporting team leaders and managers, coaching staff in library best practice and engaging the community. Librarians help to deliver the City’s commitment to create welcoming spaces, resilient and inclusive local communities and

**Key accountabilities include**:

- Lead the delivery of user-friendly customer services
- Collaborate on library strategic and operational planning as a key member of the Library Leadership Team
- Act as a role model for customer-focused service, participating in rostered customer service shifts
and ensuring customers have a positive experience characterised by active engagement
- Compile staff rosters and ensure timesheet for staff are correct for processing.
- Establish a high standard of performance within the Library Experience team in all aspects of customer service provision to enrich the customer experience
- Develop, implement and deliver a wide range of Library programs, including lifelong learning programs and events for adult customers
- Market, publicise, and promote Library programs, events and services
- Manage expenditure and report on budgets within approved delegations
- Participation in the evaluation, implementation and monitoring of information technologies

**About You**
- Tertiary qualifications or strong relevant leadership experience within libraries or customer service background essential
- Outstanding customer service skills and demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement
strategies
- Demonstrated experience in supervising, managing, leading and developing staff teams
- Excellent interpersonal skills including conflict resolution and negotiation and with the proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and interact and engage with the local community
- Highly developed written and oral communications skills including presentation skills and demonstrated experience in the marketing and promotion of library services
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, set and work to priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience in managing a budget
