**About the role**

The Librarian is responsible for the delivery of specialist library, information and research support services to the staff of the NSW Department of Education.

**About you**
- Well-developed knowledge of library and information management concepts, principles and theory.
- Knowledge of current issues and priorities in the school and vocational education and training sectors.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Qualifications acceptable for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) or equivalent higher education qualifications, demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience that meet the criteria and qualities inherent in the ALIA standard.
- Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working With Children Check) for paid employment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
