The Nature Positive Regulation Division within the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is a dynamic, exciting place to work. As the key regulator for matters protected under national environment law, the division holds a central place in the Department and works closely with state and territory governments to ensure development is sustainable and achieves the best protection for the environment.
Our work directly supports Australia’s need to develop and grow to maintain our quality of life, while ensuring nature and the ecological processes that we rely on are maintained and protected. This safeguards Australia’s future prosperity, and the quality of life for future generations.
The Division regulates under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. We are looking to fill multiple positions to lead and manage teams responsible for regulation and policy development across our five branches:
- Environment Assessments (Queensland)
- Environment Assessments (New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory)
- Environment Assessments (Western Australia, South Australia and Northern Territory)
- Environment Assessments (Victoria, Tasmania) and Post Approvals
- EPBC Regulatory Support (Policy, stakeholder engagement, training and referrals gateway)

**The Job**
We are a modern regulator that works to a high professional standard to deliver better practice regulation. In this role you will:
- Review development proposals and research their environmental impacts in accordance with legislation, associated policies, and procedures.
- Undertake analysis and evaluation of a range of information to support the preparation of briefing material to inform supervisors and decision-makers on the environmental impacts of development proposals.
- Participate in stakeholder engagement through written, online and face-to-face activities.
- Undertake other activities, including data entry and analysis, drafting correspondence, and performing administrative tasks.
- Contribute to policy development, project management, stakeholder engagement and business improvement activities

**Eligibility**
**Citizenship**:You must be an Australian citizen.
**Security Clearance**: Ability to obtain and maintain a **Baseline**security clearance.
