**Your new role**

Join our team at Curtin University as a Project Coordinator for a fixed-term (12-months) position. This project has been established to identify and adopt strategies to effectively manage the risks associated with hazardous materials and ensure compliance with relevant legislation from pre-acquisition through to appropriate disposal. This phase of the project will focus on implementation of identified actions across the Faculty of Health Sciences operations including development and rollout of an education program.

**In this role, you will, but are not limited to**:

- Develop and implement improved processes for purchasing and managing hazardous materials within the Faculty of Health Sciences.
- Conduct a comprehensive audit of all hazardous equipment requiring registration, including laser equipment and any other equipment where radiation registration is necessary.
- Ensure the project is effectively initiated, and quality control, scope, and schedules are monitored and adhered to.
- Maintain a clear focus on ensuring compliance with Curtin policies and procedures relevant to hazardous materials.
- Prepare and present project reports, updates, and documentation to relevant stakeholders.
- Manage project resources, budgets, and timelines effectively.
- Identify and address potential issues or risks that may impact project success.

**Selection Criteria**
- Completion of a relevant degree with considerable relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to coordinate and implement project plans to achieve desired outcomes within resourcing constraints.
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and oral communication skills with the ability to consult and liaise effectively with a diverse range of people and with cross-cultural sensitivity.
- Demonstrated high-level written communication skills with the ability to construct clear and concise project reports.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple and often competing tasks with attention to accuracy and detail within deadlines.
- Proven ability to work well in a team, including respecting differences, leading and supporting others, accepting direction, and working to group goals.
- Demonstrated effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
