ABOUT YOU
Reporting to the General Manager at Port Phillip Prison, this position provides the support to the prisoner group with their finances, purchases and pays, ensures the procurement of goods and services for the prison are adequate for the day to day running of the prison and co-ordinates these items to be distributed throughout the prison.
ABOUT THE ROLE

**The core responsibilities of this role are to**:

- Supervise the day to day functionalities of the business services department (special buys, switchboard, prisoner monies, correspondence, accounts and stores support).
- Effectively manage staff in the department and lead on their personal development and performance management
- Line management of a team of administrators who have responsibility for procurement and prisoner finance processes, including relevant system administration
- Oversee the ordering and issue of employee uniform & PPE stock ensuring reporting requirements are met
- Management of key business systems including incident and service failure resolution.

**The essential requirements from you**:

- Strong leadership skills with large administrative based teams
- Demonstrated experience in an management role in an operational environment
- Understanding of the principles of public/private partnerships.
- Previous demonstrated experience in a supervisory or leadership position.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an overarching understanding of and commitment to confidentiality where required.
- Must meet company medical and company police checks.
