We are pleased to be partnering with this small ASX listed research, development and production business as they source for a new General Manager, People and Culture. The business of approximately 50 employees is in a strong financial position and growing globally.

Based in Altona North and reporting to the CEO, as well as providing hands-on day to day support across the employee lifecycle, the General Manager, People and Culture will work with the leadership team to understand business requirements from a people perspective, act as a first point of contact for key stakeholders, identify capability development needs and deliver training solutions.

This standalone role is an integral part of the leadership team, responsible for recruitment, performance management, change management, reward and recognition, and payroll (with the support of the Finance function). This role also chairs the Health & Safety Committee.
- Experience at the HR Business Partner or Manager level
- Managed a payroll function previously
- Experience working within a blue and white collar, unionised environment
- Employee/industrial relations experience including an understanding of enterprise agreements and union negotiations
- An understanding of the importance of OHS, competent in the management of workers compensation matters and return to work coordination
- A genuine passion for developing an organisation's people capability and driving a people strategy that will support the business agenda
- Tech capability, experience with ELMO highly regarded as is any HRIS implementation exposure
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
