**The Role**
The APS 5 Work Health & Safety Officer (WHSE) Officer will undertake product and program safety governance and assurance activities, (both desk top and infield) associated with the delivery of product safety and safe systems of work. The WHSE will:

- Engage with a wide variety of stakeholders on issues and be required to negotiate with stakeholders to influence decision making in order to achieve business outcomes by providing detailed advice based on legislation, policy, procedures and best business practice.
- Undertake specialist research and analysis, conduct reviews, assessment, investigations and perform procedural, clerical and administrative support work.

There is a requirement for occasional travel to remote Radar sites to complete verification activities to support the planning, governance and assurance activities undertaken by HFSSPO in delivering capability to Air Force.

- Comfortable building and sustaining relationships, liaising with a range of stakeholders including other teams, contractors and colleagues across Defence and other organisations.
- Confidently engage in incident management, coordinate and perform detailed or sensitive investigation reports.
- Be able to work in a fluid environment by remaining flexible, agile and adaptable.
