**The Role**
As the Fuel Capability Manager (FCM) you are responsible to the OIC ABLF for management of the Aviation Refuelling (AvR) Section and to carry out the duties of the Base Fuel Quality Control Officer for Aviation Fuel at RAAF EDN IAW the Defence Fuel Management System.

The FCM is responsible for management of AvR staff members (ADF, APS and Contractors), fleet management, emergency response management, coordination of training and awareness programs, inspections and audits, records management compliance assurance, stakeholder engagement and contract monitoring and execution.

You will be required to undertake work that is moderately complex to complex in nature and operate under limited direction. You will be accountable for organising your workflow and making independent decisions relating for area of responsibility and provide policy advice within your area based on policies and legislation.

The role provides very limited opportunity for WFH.

- Holds a recognised Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 5 (Diploma) qualification in a relevant technical domain or relevant skills and work experience to perform the role.
- Has strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Builds and sustains effective relationships in a team environment whilst displaying leadership and management qualities in managing personnel both APS, ADF and Contractors.
- Takes initiative and has the ability to manage multiple stakeholders to facilitate AvR operations.
- Demonstrates excellent organisational and time management, as well as attention to detail in maintaining oversight and coordination of a high volume of activities.
- Can complete moderately complex processes to ensure compliance with technical regulations, in a safety critical area including development and review of processes.
- Has confidence to recommend solutions to issues impacting on the achievement of desired outcomes.
- Can interpret and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks
