**Qualifications**:

- Certificate III in Disability, Welfare, Individual support or equivalent (preferred)
- Twelve (12) month relevant experience (preferred)
- Current Drivers License
- Own Vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
- Current first aid and CPR certification
- NDIS worker screening check
- Working With Children Check
- NDIS E-Module: Worker Orientation Module
- NDIS E-Module: Supporting Effective Communication
- NDIS E-Module: Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals
- NDIS E-Module: New Worker NDIS Induction Module
- Covid 19 vaccination record including at least one booster
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use smart devices and have own smart phone
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
- Be adaptive and exercise initiative whilst following KC policies and procedures
- Ability to think and act calmly and deal with sensitively in times of destress for the participant
- Ability to speak an additional language highly desirable eg. Arabic, Punjabi, Vietnamese, Greek, Italian

As an experienced support worker, you will use your knowledge and enthusiasm to support independence for people with disabilities in all aspects of life.

**Duties include but is not limited to**:

- Personal care, such as help with dressing, meals, showering, toileting, participant transfers and assistance with emphasis on the dignity of the client
- Domestic tasks, such as general house cleaning, shopping, laundry, cooking or completion of errands and tasks
- Support for participation in social outings, recreational activities and community events and day programs
- Providing companionship, conversation and emotional support
- Work to behaviour support plans by following positive behaviour strategies.
- Maintenance of progress notes, data collection, record keeping and incident reporting.

**Salary**: $31.50 - $48.63 per hour
