**Role Profile**:
As an Assistant Accounts and Payroll Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Senior Accountant, Payroll, in the day-to-day processing and management of all payroll-related tasks. You will collaborate with the outsourced payroll provider and Agency staff to ensure accurate and timely processing. Additionally, you will provide assistance to the Manager of Corporate Accounting in accounts payable and other related tasks.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**:
- Payroll & other processing: Assist with payroll processing, including deductions, superannuation elections, leave management, and administrative tasks. Set up new starters and maintain internal registers. Process relevant paperwork for changes and terminations. Handle salary sacrifice paperwork and maintain the leave system.
- Monthly, Quarterly & Annual tasks: Support calculations for salary, superannuation, and leave provisions. Assist with Board travel allowance and FBT returns. Conduct reconciliations on a regular basis.
- Other payroll related tasks: Assist with payroll-related surveys and budget estimate updates. Respond to queries from internal teams and stakeholders.
- Accounts payable: Ensure accuracy of GL information for invoices. Perform data entry, coding, and cost allocation. Assist with payment runs and vendor queries.
**Skills and Competencies**:
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting (preferable).
Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel). Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively. Previous experience in payroll and accounts payable roles.
Attributes: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels. Strong attention to detail. Effective multitasking and deadline management skills. You must be an Australian Citizen and hold a Baseline secrity clearnace
