**THE OPPORTUNITY**
Reporting to the Group Payroll Manager, the Payroll Team Leader will assume responsibility for a small team processing fortnightly payroll for one of the company's two market-leading brands including:

- Ensuring end-to-end processing of 4000+ employees is executed accurately and within Payroll deadlines
- Overseeing the team to ensure compliance with all Payroll-related financial and statutory requirements
- Recruitment, training and development of new team members
- First port of call for escalated queries and complex day-to-day occurrences
- Leading, coaching and developing members of the payroll function to ensure professional goals are being nurtured
- Reviewing procedures and workflows to ensure any updates/changes are documented
- Standard and ad hoc reporting and analysis

**THE CHALLENGES**
Being a retail business the Payroll is high volume/complex and some weeks and months are busier than others so you will need to be able to accommodate this. There is also the expectation that you will be hands-on with the team to understand what the team does, why they do it and how you can support them to do it more accurately and efficiently if/when they need this.

**IDEAL APPLICANTS**
You have prior people management experience in a Payroll context or you’re looking to take the next step in your Payroll career by leading a team in an official capacity for the first time. Preference will be given to applicants with:

- A minimum of 5 years of Payroll experience using PayGlobal
- Prior experience working high volume payroll (500+ employees)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of management
- Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
