**Our client is a global leader in energy management and automation, providing innovative solutions to help customers optimize their energy usage and reduce their environmental impact. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Power Markets Analyst to join their team in Melbourne.**
As a Power Markets Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing energy market trends, identifying market opportunities, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making for our client's energy management services. You will also be responsible for monitoring and analysing regulatory changes, market conditions, and the impact of renewable energy sources on the energy market.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Analyse energy market trends and provide insights to support strategic decision-making for our client's energy management services.
- Monitor regulatory changes and market conditions to identify potential opportunities and risks.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify new market opportunities for our client's energy management services.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to provide insights.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key market stakeholders, including energy market participants, industry associations, and regulatory bodies.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in economics, finance, engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in energy markets analysis, preferably in a consulting or energy trading environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to analyse complex data and identify trends.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Understanding of energy markets, including regulatory frameworks, market structures, and pricing mechanisms.
- Familiarity with energy management services and solutions is desirable.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, and Python is preferred.
