As an integral member of the Power Markets team, you will analyse data and visualise energy flows and consumption to assist in the implementation of efficiency measures and compare energy efficiency in a scalable, transparent, and future-proof way.

**Essential Responsibilities**:

- Providing a broad range of energy market analysis, price forecasting retail pricing and global insights for the business unit
- Assisting in the development of asset and portfolio market projections and valuations
- Developing complex econometric models for forecasting global energy prices using available historical supply, demand, and pricing data
- Evaluating models for errors, as well as evaluating output of the models versus the patterns of the market being modelled
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and research within the energy markets, including timing studies, fundamental analysis, statistical analysis and technical analysis

**Qualifications/Requirements**:

- Degree Level qualifications in a quantitative discipline e.g. Mathematics, Engineering, Information Technology, Commerce, or Economics
- 3-5 years’ experience in a related role with knowledge of the operations and dynamics of the National Electricity Market
- Strong quantitative and logical reasoning skills
- Previous experience in the scoping, development and user acceptance testing of IT systems enhancements will be well regarded
- The ability to communicate opinions on past, present, and future energy market movements both verbally and in writing with colleagues, and senior management in a clear and concise manner
