**The role**:
Central to this role is the participation in a team to provide delivery of expert advice to customers and stakeholders on technical matters, including assessment and quantification of geological risk for potential CCS projects, potential monitoring and verification programs, capacity estimation and support of customer operational plans via the preparation of technical documentation and reports and from time-to-time undertaking peer reviews of technical reports.

You will contribute to workshops and risk assessments for research & development and commercial projects and require a sound ability to communicate risks of geological uncertainty and potential impact. This role will include the support of design and planning scientific experiments for geoscientific research projects relevant to CCS and including screening and evaluation of geological storage opportunities and support of geological model development, leading to the successful integration in an operational context to the benefit of the end user, which could be either collaborative research or for a commercial customer.

**Success Profile**:
**Qualifications**:

- Degree in a geoscience discipline (essential)
- Postgraduate experience would be advantageous, but is not required (Masters or PhD in a geoscience discipline / petroleum engineering)

**Experience**:

- A proven track record in a subsurface geoscience role / CCUS technical / operational role (essential)
- Demonstrated experience in geological modelling is essential (Petrel / Eclipse / tTavigator).

**Hard Skills**:

- Strong geomodelling skills (static models comprised of Facies, petrophysical & properties)
- Wireline log analysis
- Stratigraphic analysis

An awareness of injection / CO2 storage and reservoir engineering (Advantageous)

**Soft Skills**:

- Consulting ability - problem solving skillet and desire to add value
- Technical report writing and presentation skills
- Project Management (advantageous)
