**What role you will play in our team**:
ExxonMobil geoscientists are deployed across our Upstream, Low Carbon Solutions and Technology & Engineering companies to support the Corporation's goal of providing global energy solutions and leading the industry to achieve net zero. A geoscientist can expect to have a career working a wide range of assignments in traditional oil and gas exploration, development, production, and assignments supporting the Energy Transition, including carbon capture and storage.

Our geoscientists work at the basin, play, prospect and field scale, focusing on evaluating and assessing the commerciality of new or existing opportunities. They deliver accurate subsurface descriptions and communicate key risks and uncertainties to support investment decisions. They integrate and interpret geological and geophysical data and work with a wide range of data sets including seismic (2d and 3D), well logs, fluids, reservoir analogues and core. They leverage advanced seismic imaging and mapping techniques to provide diverse and creative subsurface descriptions.

An exciting opportunity exists for a geophysicist to join our Melbourne based Geoscience team, working on a diverse range of opportunities and projects across the Asia Pacific region.

The position is based at Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

**What you will do**:

- Provide integrated geophysics solutions that result in the identification and generation of exploration, development, and production opportunities
- Generate a range of geophysical products to support subsurface characterization, DHI identification and classification, advanced subsurface mapping, and quantitative interpretation
- Work effectively within and across diverse multi-discipline and cross-continent team environments
- Collaborate with a range of colleagues on projects such as opportunity evaluation, reservoir characterization, well planning, drilling execution, post drill evaluations and field developments
- Delivering technical updates, advice and recommendations to the subsurface team, management, and external parties
- Provide mentoring and guidance to colleagues
- Generate clear and comprehensive documentation of work efforts

**About you**:
**Skills and Qualifications**

Your broad range of geophysics skills and experience will enable you to effectively support business needs, opportunity generation and subsurface data integration. You will bring:

- A tertiary qualification in geophysics or similarly relevant discipline and a minimum 5 years of work experience within the energy sector
- A commitment to health, safety, and environmental responsibility
- Demonstrated maturity, sound judgement and interpersonal skills through prior leadership and team roles
- Ability to question and identify improvements with a collaborative attitude
- Willingness to take on challenging assignments across varied business stages, and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in the field of quantitative seismic interpretation and seismic reservoir characterization
