**About the Role**

Lead a small and skilled team to build the capacity of community organisations, clubs and groups to deliver programs and activities that strengthen the Manningham community. Work in an integrated way across the portfolio areas of the team with current priority areas including free from violence, homelessness, people with disabilities, multicultural and faith communities, LGBTIQA+ communities, and supporting gender equality.

This role is responsible for working professionally with employees at all levels across Council and liaising with relevant external stakeholders, including key partners, neighbourhood houses, libraries, and local community organisations.

**Key Activities of the role include**:

- Lead a small team to support actions which enable and encourage participation in community life.
- Plan and lead a program of work that responds to identified needs and trends for community capacity building to support Manningham to be an inclusive and connected community and deliver strong outcomes under the Council Plan.

**Skills and Experience**
- Tertiary or post-graduate qualification in community development, social sciences or related disciplines.
- Extensive project management skills with demonstrated experience with managing multiple projects and project partners.
- Experience with developing a range of community engagement strategies and implementing these.
- Experienced in effectively leading diverse teams and managing a high performing team.
- An adept problem-solver drawing on community development discipline and practice.
- Strong communication skills, including writing of reports and submissions for a range of audiences and oral communication skills.
