Lead our communications, engagement and advocacy functions to strengthen our connection with the Manningham community.

About The Role
Reporting to the Director Experience and Capability, you'll lead a talented team responsible for communications, engagement, brand and digital engagement across the organisation. You'll shape how we tell our story, strengthen our relationship with the community, and support Council's strategic advocacy priorities.
This is a senior leadership role with impact, influencing how we engage, how we listen, and how we deliver on our commitment to provide a connected, consistent and customer-focused experience.
Key focus areas
- Lead the development and delivery of a contemporary, integrated Communications and Engagement Strategy.
- Provide expert advice to the Mayor, CEO and Executive on communications, engagement and issues management.
- Strengthen our advocacy approach, supporting Council's strategic priorities.
- Drive innovation across digital and traditional communication channels.
- Inspire, develop and support a high-performing team that lives our values and delivers exceptional service.
About You
- You're a strategic communicator and experienced leader who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- You bring strong political and stakeholder acumen, sound judgement, and the ability to influence outcomes and lead through complexity.
- You have a proven record in leading, mentoring, and empowering your team members to deliver impactful, aligned communications.
- You're passionate about people and community — and you know how to translate strategy into meaningful impact.
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, journalism or a related discipline are essential.
