**About the Role**

Step into an exciting opportunity with Manningham Council’s Parks and Natural Environment Team as the Leading Hand for Open Space This vibrant, hands-on role offers you the chance to work primarily outdoors, overseeing essential parks maintenance activities while also taking charge of supervising internal staff and contractors.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing roadside and reserve mowing, managing fire mitigation efforts, and ensuring top-notch customer service. You’ll work closely with the Senior Parks Officer for Open Space, collaborating daily with a variety of departments and engaging with the public to make a real impact.

**Who Are You?**
- An experienced horticultural professional with knowledge and skills relevant to open space maintenance, fire mitigation and staff management.
- Experienced in the supervising of staff and contractors and an understanding of the required skills, plant, and materials to effectively achieve the key responsibilities and requirements of this position.
- A history of working in open space teams and the ability to implement these skills on the ground.
- An experienced ride on mower/tractor operator with the ability to utilise tools and equipment to achieve quality horticultural and parks maintenance outcomes.
- Possess the ability to communicate effectively and liaise with council staff, contractors, friends’ groups, park users, residents, and the general public.
