**ABOUT THE TEAM**

The focus of the Greens and Communications team is to support the Australian Government’s consideration of all policy priorities through policy advice (known as ‘Finance Green Briefs’) to the Cabinet and its Committees, including the Expenditure Review Committee (ERC). We also manage the finalisation of key cross-Government communication materials related to the Budget and MYEFO updates.

In discharging these responsibilities, we have direct liaison with the Office of the Minister for Finance, the Finance Senior Executive and a range of external stakeholders, including the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and the Treasury. Capability building and communication of key Federal Budget and whole-of-government requirements and administrative outcomes, including via Estimates Memoranda, is another key element of the team’s focus.

**ABOUT THE** OPPORTUNITIES**

We are looking for motivated people to work at the APS 3, APS 4 and APS 5 level who are eager to strengthen their professional skills and gain insights into Government decision-making processes. Duties will vary but generally include:

- Working flexibly as part of a team to ensure consistent, high quality briefing to various Committees of Cabinet and provide best practice advice on briefing products
- Communicating with the Finance Minister’s Office, Finance Executive and other Central Agencies to facilitate clearance of briefs and manage expectations of briefing products
- Assisting with the development of whole-of-government advice to ensure Commonwealth agencies are informed of key Federal Budget processes and timelines
- Coordinating the development and finalisation of a range of materials provided to the Prime Minister, Treasurer, Finance Minister, and other Portfolio Ministers in relation to the Budget and MYEFO outcomes
- Building an understanding of the IT system (Shared Budget Workflow System which leverages a Sharepoint platform) used for drafting briefing products, so we can build stakeholder capability and continue to refine the system to meet user requirements.
