**Our Opportunity**:
The Sales Engineer Manager is a leader for sales engineers in ANZ who support Thales Cloud Protection & Licensing (CPL) products and solutions. This role plays an integral role in the sales of Thales CPL solutions and will partner closely with the sales leader to form the go to market strategy and render technical support. This includes leading, recruiting, development and training of the sales engineers in ANZ, ensure technical plus professional excellence in the team to support sales cycle, advocate Thales CPL solutions and deliver the business growth target assigned for Australia and New Zealand.
This position can be based out of Sydney or Melbourne.
**Responsibilities**:
- Sales Cycle Leadership: The position is expected to be personally involved in the most important sales cycles in their assigned regions to ensure the highest possibility of success. This may include individual contribution to or owning technical sales cycles.
- The SE Manager reports to APAC sales engineering director and works closely with Regional Director of Sales in ANZ to deliver the business growth target. The SE Manager leads, supports and challenges the SE Team, giving guidance on individual and company objectives, discusses and support finding viable approaches and supports delivery where required ensuring successful completion.
- Recruiting, Developing and Managing: The role is expected to lead, recruit and develop a high performance Sales Engineer team. Development includes on boarding of New Hires, ensuring all Sales Engineers are ready to perform their duties in sales cycles and supporting personal career development. Management includes ensuring all tasks are completed and performed at the highest level of quality: the role will utilize the Thales performance review system to continually provide guidance on performance and development of the team.
- Render presales technical support (POCs, Demos, technical presentations ) to local sales team, work closely with the account team to drive business growth on assigned accounts and territory.
- Discover and qualify customer business and technical requirements, propose the best fitting Thales security solutions to address customer paint points and project need.
- Prepare technical proposal and solution architecture document for customer projects and RFPs.
- Conduct technical workshop and training for customers and partners, enable customer know-how and adoption on Thales security solution.
- Gather customer feedbacks and collaborate with product manager on product enhancement.
- Deliver product installations and configuration required for customer testing, support customer POCs.
- Support partner product integration and certification testing.
- Collaborate with entire Thales CPL team (Product Management, Support, and Professional Services, Marketing ) to deliver Thales CPL solution success in customer space.
- Serve as a technical advisor to customer, guide customers on security best practice and industry compliance, support customer digital transformation with Thales security solutions.
**About You**:
You hold the following skills and attributes:
- A degree in a computer-related field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Systems Analysis, etc.) or a similar discipline. Any additional business-related education would be a plus.
- At least 5-7 years’ experience in IT practising, ideally in IT Security, working as a pre-sales or consultancy in a technical customer facing role, with 3 years’ experience in Technical Leadership Role
