About the role

YOUR NEW ROLE
- You will be working as part of an established multidisciplinary team. You will be working with and
- typically, alongside the allied health professionals in the Prevention and Chronic illness Care
- (PCIC) Team to provide high quality, evidence based and client centred care to our clients.
- As the Grade 2 Allied Health Assistant in the Prevention of Chronic illness Care Team you will be
- responsible for:
- Undertaking general duties under the instruction of Allied Health professionals, such as

Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Podiatrists and Exercise Physiologists, to provide
- effective and timely services to our clients- The delivery of evidence based individual and group interventions under the direction or

delegation and supervision of treating allied health professionals- Administrative and clinical support functions, to assist with the effective running of the service

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Under the direction or delegation and supervision of a treating allied health professional, the Allied
- Health Assistant will:
- Implement, and or assist with, individual and group-based interventions with clients as directed

by the treating Clinician- Prepare client resources, and clinical areas for individual and group interventions and

cleans/tidies up after interventions.- Provide set education under the direction of the treating Clinician (e.g., safe use/care of

equipment)- Provide regular updates and monitor and report relevant changes in the client’s status to the

treating Clinician- Assist with delivery and collection of equipment to clients as prescribed by treating clinicians
- Assist with clerical and administration duties such as organising groups, scheduling

appointments, printing, clinical documentation and other duties as required to maximise clinical
- efficiency

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance
- Excellent communication, time management, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to implement individual and group-based interventions effectively and safely

under supervision and delegation ofan allied health professional
- Knowledge and understanding of the role of the allied health assistant in a Community Health

setting
- An ability to relate comfortably to a wide range of clients
- Ability and preparedness to develop the Allied Health Assistant role.
