**About the Role**
Responsible for processing payroll, remitting payroll taxes and government reporting as well as preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll statements. The role will ensure compliance with government legislations, establishing and implementing payroll administration policy and procedure.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
**Payroll administration**
- Ensures all fortnightly pay run transactions are processed, reviewed, and remitted efficiently.
- Collects, calculates, enters data to maintain and updates payroll information.
- Collects timesheet data and payroll information.
- Compiles summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave related wages and providing accurate reporting.
- Processes, reviews, and remits payroll associated costs (superannuation, group tax, payroll tax & workers compensation).
- Carries out reconciliations of Work Cover premiums.
- Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee income, social security taxes, workers compensation payments, and other related payments.
- Resolves payroll discrepancies.
- Maintains payroll operations by establishing, implementing, and following policies and procedures.
- Works closely with HR and Accounts teams to verify employee data and accounts, and ad-hoc assignment as required.
- Attends to all payroll related support and queries to all managers and employees across States.
**Payroll Reporting**
- Prepares payroll reports or analysis for review by management as required.
- Generates monthly new hires and termination reporting.
- Ensures personnel records are maintained and efficiently stored in Share Point Employees Folders.
**Requirement and skills**
- Certificate III in Business, Certificate III in Financial Services or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, and payroll software such as Attache’, Express Leave, or Sage preferred.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and relevant legal regulations.
- Strong knowledge of Awards and award interpretation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High numerical aptitude.
