**APS 2 - Library Assistant, Collection Retrieval and Delivery**:

- Work amongst the Library’s extensive and unique physical collections
- Contribute to the safe access and handling of collection items
- Support the Library’s Fellowships, Reference, Exhibition, Curatorial, and Digitisation teams

The Library is seeking to fill **two** ongoing **APS 2** **Library Assistant, Collection Retrieval and Delivery roles** in the Reader Services Section of the Engagement Branch.

Both roles work behind-the-scenes of the Library’s Collection Delivery Service undertaking the same range of tasks, including:

- Retrieval and delivery of the Library’s print collections from closed stack areas to the reading rooms or other organisational work areas.
- Refiling of requested items and filing of items recently acquired.
- Straightforward collection maintenance to ensure collection safety and efficient retrieval.
- Conducting shelf-checks, catalogue searches and escalation of issues impacting collection discoverability when appropriate and under direction.
- Supporting minor collection moves or enhancement projects.
- PC-based tasks
- Lifting material weighing up to 10 kilos
- Pushing trolleys
- Retrieving material from high
- and low-level shelving in motorised and static compactus.
- Able to pay attention to detail in a busy work environment.
- Organised and able to work collaboratively to meet team outcomes.
- Able to make reasonable adjustments within defined parameters and with support from supervisors to meet delivery timeframes.
- An effective communicator that is service-focused and calm under pressure.
