**APS 4 - Senior Library Officer, Collection Management**:

The Library has a vacant ongoing **Senior Library Officer Collection Description: Published (APS 4)** role in the Collection Management Section of the Collection Branch.
This role undertakes tasks relating to the processing of collection material including item level metadata ingest and enhancement and cataloguing primarily for published collection material in all formats. In this role you will have technical expertise that contributes to Section goals.
This will include facilitating and undertaking tasks relating to the processing and control of collections of material.
This role works with other teams within the Collection Management section including:
**Collection Description: Archival** which focuses on description processed for commissioned photography, pictures and manuscripts.
**Collection Description: Projects**who work with ephemera, posters and oral history including uploading and quality assurance of oral history transcriptions.
Skills, capabilities and experience across the teams within the Collection Management Section are similar. There may be opportunity for you to utilise your skills and experience in any of these teams.
This recruitment process will be used to fill an immediate ongoing vacancy. It will also be used to establish a merit pool to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies at the APS 4 level across several teams within the Collection Management section.

- assist in decisions that impact the overall outcomes for the functions of the team they are involved in.
- Qualifications in Information Management or Archives.
- Experience with metadata descriptive standards.
- Experience in the handling, housing and preparation for storage of paper-based collections and books.
- Knowledge of contemporary preventive conservation principles.
- Knowledge and experience of contemporary archival descriptive and processing standards is an advantage.
