**About the team**:
The People Support Unit is the first point of contact for employment advice, services and support for over 30,000 employees across the department's workforce.
**About the role**:
The People Support Officer forms part of a connected team that provides a customer focussed service to department employees and stakeholders across the employee lifecycle as well as People & Culture programs and initiatives.
The role works in a service delivery environment, providing contact centre and face to face member services. In the role, you will provide People & Culture (human resources) information both verbally and in writing in a timely and professional manner. You will also develop and maintain a practical knowledge of People & Culture (human resources) legislation, policy and procedures.
**To be successful in the role, you will have**:
- Excellent communication and engagement skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Experience, enthusiasm and self-motivation in providing exceptional customer service.
- The ability to positively engage with customers across different service channels within a service delivery environment.
- The ability to build positive and collaborative relationships and handle difficult situations in a calm and positive manner.
- The ability to embrace new methods and be adaptable in a changing environment.
- **The successful applicant is required to hold a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry**.
