**About the Role**

The Manager Data and Analytics is responsible for leading the development of an effective data analytics model to support operational business / services data and statistics across the Forensic Dept. The model will provide ongoing visibility and effective measures of forensic operational capabilities and services.

The position will facilitate the integration of forensic data with other key source of data and information to support improved forensic intelligence and an evidence-based understanding of the value / impact of forensic services across Victoria Police.

Data modelling and the provision of evidenced based information will also be key in the ongoing forensic modernisation program of work and to support and influence transformational change to ensure a sustainable forensic service to Victoria.

**Key Accountabilities include**:

- Undertake an active leadership role working with the DFO and key stakeholders to develop and implement functional and sustainable data models which provide key operational service statistics and business intelligence data.
- To trouble shoot complex data and technical issues with the view to mitigating risk and ensuring a positive outcome (functional data models) for FSD.
- Provide specialist data management and expert operational knowledge and understanding to support constructive problem solving and ensure effective data models and business intelligence outcomes for FSD.
- Communicate and lead effectively and with authoritative expertise, to achieve positive outcomes across the technical aspects to support the delivery of forensic data and analytics requirements.
- Communicate and engage with the wider FSD workplace, encouraging and supporting a culture of change and understanding of data models and business intelligence and their alignment to the strategic objectives of FSD.

**Skills & Experience**
- Extensive experience in the development of data models relating to demand, service delivery, organisational structures, processes, workflows and outputs in a changing operational environment.
- Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills with demonstrated experience in the management and implementation of significant data management and evaluation techniques.
- Highly developed and demonstrated experience in formulating, evaluating and recommending sound policies and strategies in the utilisation of data modelling approaches, methodology and systems.
- Demonstrated experience in developing demand and cost modelling for inclusion in business cases, including benefits realisation and investment logic mapping.
- Demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring and coaching a team of specialists.
- Demonstrated experience in all aspects of project management, including project analysis, research, systems analysis, developing and coordinating strategic projects in a complex environment.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing solutions to complex data management issues and in support of operational and strategic activities.
- Proven ability to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction, and constructively manage stakeholder issues to ensure positive outcomes for the stakeholder and the Region/Department/Command.
- A proven record of ethical behaviour and a demonstrated commitment to the Victoria Police Code of Ethicsand Conduct, Financial Code of Practice, and the Organisational Values.

**Requirements and relevant information**:

- Ongoing VPS-6 position available.
- Position is located at 31 Forensic Drive Macleod.
