**The Opportunity**:
Reporting directly to the Director, Works & Engineering Services, this role will be responsible for ensuring appropriate policies and strategic plans are in place and that asset management practice supports the long-term sustainable and responsible management of Council-owned assets in accordance with Council objectives, community needs and legislative requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**

You will be required to effectively and efficiently conduct the following duties.-
- Actively lead and manage The Barossa Council’s Asset Management function to ensure that Council’s broad range of assets are strategically managed and maintained for optimal cost efficiency and productivity.- Develop, lead, deliver and maintain Council’s Asset Management system with emphasis on driving and strategically delivering key outputs and outcomes.- Monitor and review the Engineering team’s operational practices, systems and service outcomes.- Lead the preparation of annual capital works and longer term infrastructure plans.- Prepare, manage, monitor and report the Assets and Engineering annual budget.

**What we are looking for**:
You will have substantial experience in the development and implementation of asset management frameworks, assessment techniques and continuous improvement principles. You will have experience successfully leading a technical team and be highly skilled in motivating, overseeing and driving team members. You will have strong communication skills, be highly attentive to detail, while demonstrating the ability to use initiative and problem solve when required.
