An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent to join the Maryvale Paper Mill within the Pulp Maintenance team.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance activities across your designated area including leading a team of maintenance trades professionals. You will ensure all maintenance work in your area is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard. A focus on continuous improvement across all aspects of the role and team is required for this position.

You will contribute to the success of opal completing the following:

- Providing safety leadership across all maintenance activities on site.
- Manage required job packs and source parts and equipment for urgent maintenance work.
- Contract management of our 3rd party maintenance providers and other site service providers.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives to reduce planned and unplanned downtime and cost of maintenance.
- Management of a significant maintenance and capital projects budget.
- Developing the capability of maintenance team members to ensure best in class maintenance performance.
- Facilitate upcoming schedule with maintenance planner, scheduler and operations.
- Ensure good quality data is input into the CMMS system.

- Extensive experience leading a commercially focussed Engineering/Maintenance function within a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Excellent financial acumen and contract management experience.
- Outstanding people leadership skills and a passion for continuous improvement.
- Demonstrable experience in having delivered cost improvement initiatives.
- An eye for innovation and an interest in the future of manufacturing.
- Extensive experience with unionised workforce highly desired.
