As the needs of our customers change, so do we.
At AGL, we believe progress is powered by our people.
If you’re set on making real change for tomorrow, we have the scale, resources and ambition to get it started today.
Now’s an extraordinary time to work with us. We’re taking the lead on renewables and expanding our products to make them more sustainable, affordable and useful for all Australians.
That’s what we call progress. To achieve it, we’re bringing together people with unique stories, perspectives, backgrounds and talent - and we need yours too
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to join AGL’s Integrated Energy business unit and get involved in the fast-paced and challenging world of energy trading.
As the newly created Reporting and Analytics Lead, you will be responsible for leading the uplift of reporting and analytical standards across our energy trading, origination and portfolio management teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Define a framework that governs the development of reporting and results in consistency, standardisation and accuracy
- Define an engagement and governance model for the development, maintenance and support of reporting
- Define the business ownership of all reporting across trading, risk and finance - ensuring that all responsibilities are agreed by stakeholders
- Work with stakeholders to implement and embed the framework into business teams
- Review the existing suite of reporting to identify opportunities for rationalisation, change and improvement
- Assisting the business and delivery stakeholders as they learn how to develop reporting within the new frameworks
- While report development is not currently considered a primary responsibility of this role, it may be required as part of business adoption
About You
As a reporting professional you will have proven experience establishing new reporting teams, frameworks or standards, or have worked across a variety of reporting teams and styles. You will have the confidence to communicate and influence the adoption of your ideas with a range of stakeholders
- Qualified with experience working within BI reporting or analytics teams
- Previous experience leading the establishment of a new reporting framework and team into a complex corporate environment
- Experience developing and implementing internal change and communications strategies and materials for a diverse audience
- Strong understanding of Tableau, Power BI or equivalent tooling, and an appreciation of the best practice on how to utilise these
- The ability to understand systems - how they are used by the business, their interdependencies and the limitations
- A good understanding of the Australian and international energy markets, or trading businesses, would be beneficial
Inclusion at AGL
AGL has a commitment to maintain a diverse workforce, and welcomes the opportunity for applicants to share their lived experiences. We also recognise that some applicants may not wish to disclose, and we respect their decision.
