About The Role:
The Integrated Planning, Data and Insights team within Customer Markets ensures competitive and sustainable energy solutions in the Australian market. By leveraging data and analytics, we optimize pricing, demand forecasting, resource allocation, and more to support AGL's growth, foster customer loyalty, increase market share, and enhance customer experience through innovative commercial initiatives.

Leading a small team, you will support the Head of Integrated Planning, Data and Insights in achieving business goals and financial analyses that is essential for AGL’s commercial success. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to align commercial strategies with business objectives, maintain industry awareness, anticipate market shifts and implement data-driven approaches to boost AGL’s competitiveness.

What you’ll be doing:
- Translate sales, pricing, and market data into actionable commercial recommendations.- Ensure accurate data capture, management, and hygiene practices.- Implement and maintain models for performance, customer insights, and key metrics.- Lead and mentor a team of planning professionals, fostering collaboration and results-driven culture.- Establish and track KPIs to evaluate business plan effectiveness and identify improvements.- Develop and manage policies and processes for the annual budgeting cycle.- Collaborate with teams to provide comprehensive business insights and contribute to pricing, sales, and go-to-market strategies.- Work with stakeholders to understand sales impact and success metrics.- Drive initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the analytics function.- Report on budget variations to key stakeholders on a monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual basis.

About you:
- Previous demonstrated in a managerial role within commercial analytics, preferably in the energy or utilities sector.- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, with basic expertise in SQL, Python, or similar languages.- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate date into actionable business insight.- Proven leadership and team management experience, fostering a collab and high-performance work environment.- In-depth knowledge of the energy industry, including market trends, regulatory frameworks, and key performance indicators.- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.- Experience in leading forecasting efforts, including budgeting and variance analysis, to support strategic decision-making.
