Role Detail

We are looking for an energetic and dynamic Barista / Café Assistant to assist in our internal café. Located in the prestigious Collins Arch Development, our office is buzzing with energy and offers a unique opportunity to work Monday to Friday with shifts rostered in between 7:30am and 5:00pm. No weekend work required This position is being offered on a permanent, full-time basis.

Your key responsibilities will be:

- Preparing a wide variety of coffee to the highest industry standards and provide a high-level service of food and beverage service with a prompt, professional and friendly manner
- Creating an experience for Café customers aligned with the firm values
- Responsible for managing point of sale transactions, including electronic cash handling
- Maintaining the hygiene and stock of Café kitchen and seating area, ensuring areas are clean and tidy at all times.
- Ensuring all equipment is cleaned and well maintained, including coffee machines, fridges, and display cabinets
- Accepting and storing deliveries of stock
- Set up and serve beverages and meals, including coffees, breakfasts, lunches, and dinners
- Break down and clean-up of the Café at the end of each day
- Be impeccably groomed and professionally presented in corporate uniform according to documented guidelines and monitor and communicate team presentation and uniform standards
- Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of service levels
- Other duties as requested by the Guest Services Manager or Head Chef (i.e. after hours functions)

About You
- Exceptional Barista skills with experience in high volume fast turnaround
- Experience in Café environment
- Food and beverage industry knowledge and experience, including point of sale hardware and cash handling
- Responsible Service of Alcohol
- Food Handling Certificate
- Food storage and handling experience
- Strong customer service focus
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexible working hours
- Ability to work both unsupervised and as a collaborative team member
- Capacity to multi-task and a flexible, proactive attitude
