**The opportunity**

We are looking for a driven and strategic professional to join us as the Manager Underwriting Governance. In this pivotal role, you will lead the enhancement and oversight of our underwriting governance framework, strengthening controls and supporting QBE's underwriting performance. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with senior stakeholders, contribute to risk management strategies, and play a key role in delivering the company's long-term objectives.

**Your new role**

In this position, you will:

- Lead the refinement and oversight of QBE's underwriting governance framework to strengthen controls and improve effectiveness.
- Ensure alignment with group policy frameworks, conducting reviews such as Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) standards.
- Collaborate with data analysts to enhance dashboards, monitoring tools, and oversight systems.
- Provide governance expertise across all elements of the underwriting process.
- Oversee risk self-assessments (RSAs), monitor high and critical breaches, and address control failures' broader implications.
- Support underwriting governance management meetings and collaborate with senior leaders to achieve strategic goals.

**About you**

We are looking for someone with:

- Strong knowledge of underwriting processes and risk controls; experience in the insurance industry essential.
- A solid understanding of risk management and an understanding of secondary control failure impacts.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical skills and experience working with data to improve monitoring and oversight.
- Experience working across diverse projects and timeframes is a plus.
