**About the role**

As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment across our hospital campus for staff, patients, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include responding promptly to emergencies such as Code Blacks, fire and duress alarms, conducting duress testing, and performing internal and external patrols of buildings and grounds.

In addition to your core security duties, you may assist clinical staff with patient care in line with established security policies and procedures. You'll be expected to identify and report unauthorised individuals, respond to unusual incidents or alarms, and minimise property loss or damage through vigilant monitoring and reporting.

**Location and Support**

Maitland Hospital is conveniently located just 15 minutes from the Hunter Expressway, 25 minutes from John Hunter Hospital and central Newcastle, and is easily accessible via the New England Highway, major link roads, public transport routes, and a nearby train station.

You will work closely with an experienced security team, working in teams of two, and be supported by the Security Manager through ongoing training and orientation. Professional development and further education are highly encouraged and supported. This role requires a proactive and responsive approach to ensure the safety and well-being of all staff, patients, and visitors within the hospital environment.

- Is reliable, adaptable, and available to work across a 24/7 rotating roster

- To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. **Essential Requirements**
- Current 1A Security Licence and Current First Aid Certificate.
- Eligible to drive in NSW and willingness to travel to sites across HNELHD
