**About the role**:
As an Independent Advisor for the IAC, you will be a pivotal force in driving impactful change within the disability sector. Reporting to the IAC's Principal Member, you will work closely with IAC members, IAC Reference Groups, the Senior Independent Advisor, and the IAC Secretariat to provide strategic guidance that enhances the lives of individuals living with disabilities. Your focus will encompass a deep understanding of the agency operating environment, with a specific emphasis on intellectual disabilities and youth representation
- Provide guidance and mentoring to diverse reference group members, ensuring effective engagement and participation
- Facilitate engaging and productive discussions during reference group meetings
- Undertake comprehensive research on behalf of reference groups, contributing to evidence-based advice and reports
- Contribute to independent projects aligned with the IAC and reference group work plans
- Assist in the onboarding and induction of new IAC and reference group members

**About you**:

- A profound understanding of lived experience and expertise in the disability sector
- Experience in devising and implementing strategic advice expertise and research to continually improve the provision of Advice
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for identifying opportunities for positive change.
