**The Opportunity**
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has several unique vacancies within the Overseas Property Office and Services (OPO) Division, where we create a little corner of Australia in every part of the word.
At OPO we plan it, build it, and maintain it. We put our people first, to create world-firsts, and we are passionate about delivering property projects and services for the Australian Government.
OPO are seeking senior leaders to support and oversight contract and procurement activities to help deliver departmental priorities.
These roles will coordinate and assist with project implementation and support senior staff in delivering the strategic vision while managing competing priorities, including acting as point of contact and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
As a seasoned professional, you will thrive leading a team, are committed to forging strong interpersonal stakeholder relationships to identify and deliver property solutions across a global portfolio.
In the role of Assistant Director, your demonstrated skills in influencing, negotiation and delivering on a range of time sensitive and ground-breaking projects, will see you succeed. As a confident self-starter, you step outside the boundaries, drive initiatives and strategic thinking to deliver what others would consider ‘impossible’.
This role will challenge you to drive collaboration toward the strategic vision of the organisation, were innovation and responsiveness yield success.
As an Assistant Director, you will be able to:
- provide expert high level policy advice
- engage, manage, and coordinate on complex or sensitive projects that impact on operational outcomes
- engage and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve results
- manage a team and contribute to innovation and business improvement strategies.
**Qualifications & Experience**
The following experience, education and/or qualifications is desirable:
- qualifications in procurement and contract management
- understanding of government financial framework and procurement policy.
- post graduate qualifications in Project Management, Construction, Architecture and or Engineering.
