**The Opportunity**
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has several unique vacancies within the Overseas Property Office and Services (OPO) Division, where we create a little corner of Australia in every part of the word.
At OPO we plan it, build it, and maintain it. We put our people first, to create world-firsts, and we are passionate about delivering property projects and services for the Australian Government.
OPO are seeking skilled Project Managers to lead, manage and deliver medium and major facilities and infrastructure capital works projects. Projects are undertaken in a range of locations globally, with different market maturity and geopolitical sensitivities.
You may supervise, coordinate, and contribute to the planning, organisation, direction and management of commercial property and portfolio activities across the overseas property portfolio. These roles lead the advocacy, negotiation, and representation of the organisation in managing and leading key departmental projects.
As a seasoned professional, you will thrive leading a team, are committed to forging strong interpersonal stakeholder relationships to identify and deliver property solutions across a global portfolio.
In the role of Director or Assistant Director, your demonstrated skills in influencing, negotiation and delivering on a range of time sensitive and ground-breaking projects, will see you succeed.
As a confident self-starter, you step outside the boundaries, drive initiatives and strategic thinking to deliver what others would consider ‘impossible’.
This role will challenge you to drive collaboration toward the strategic vision of the organisation, were innovation and responsiveness yield success.
As an Assistant Director, you will be able to
- provide expert high level policy advice
- engage, manage, and coordinate on complex or sensitive projects that impact on operational outcomes
- engage and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve results
- manage a team and contribute to innovation and business improvement strategies.
**Qualifications & Experience**
Qualifications in Project Management, Construction, Architecture and/or Engineering and Property (portfolio, valuation or asset management) and experience in major projects administering contracts and client focus is required.
