**JIVARO Recruitment are currently working with one of Australia's global fashion retailers, in the search to find a Buyer to join their expanding team**

**Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to**:

- Lead and direct design to ensure fabrics, prints and style details are consistent with the brand vision
- Make commercial decisions throughout the development process of a product with respect to delivering the most commercial style in
the most profitable way, adhering to brand standards, highlighting any concerns to the buying manager
- Research of fabrics, trims and yarns, ensuring these are developed and sourced in a timely manner for range building
- Ensure all key deadlines are met with regards to critical path management
- Demonstrate broad knowledge and awareness of competitors and external trends, identifying missed opportunities and trends to
potentialise sales and profit
- Construct a balanced range that offers the right mix of print, plain, and colour and end-use for the business
- Ensure all department financial parameters and targets are achieved
- In consultation with the Assistant Buyer negotiate and confirm individual product lead times with suppliers prior to order signing
- Build effective relationships with team, suppliers and key stakeholders across the business

**The successful will have**:

- Minimum 12 months experience in a Junior Buyer role or equivalent
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word)
- Understanding and interpretation of trends in data
- Outstanding commercial awareness
- Ability to perform under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
- To lead by example and provide support and mentoring to other members of the team
- Professional presentation skills
- Broad awareness of trends and markets
