**JIVARO Recruitment are currently working with one of Australia's fastest-growing fashion apparel and accessories business, who are currently looking for a Junior Buyer to join their growing team**

The purpose of the Junior Buyer is to support the Buyer / Senior Buyer by taking responsibility for a category or department. The Junior Buyer will act under the guidance of a Buyer to develop a strategy.

**Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Alongside Planning, develop the critical path for the forward season, taking into consideration product lead times, factory or production constraints, trade timelines, and the requirements of all key stakeholders to ensure that all deadlines are met, and that product arrives in the business in line with the plan
- Take into consideration any market variances or requirements including for wholesale partners
- Offer solutions to simplify process and areas of opportunity to reduce duplication, ensure meetings are outcome-focused and the
the workload is manageable
- When issues arise, offer solutions to ensure the best outcome for the department, updating all necessary stakeholders in a timely manner
- Confidently talk through department performance in weekly trade and best and worst meetings, being able to offer top line suggestions and summarise performance
- Push/Pull stock in line with forecasted stock holdings
- challenge suppliers for repeat dates, offer suggestions for cancellations and
reductions to minimise business risk
- Where the product is ranged over multiple markets/hemispheres, consider the performance of the product and its potential in countries where it has not had a reaction yet
- offer suggestions to cancel stock or increase commitment where applicable
- Work alongside the Planner to ensure that key financial parameters are being met and that robust strategies are in place to achieve budgets
- Work alongside the Design team and Buyer to develop products in line with our brand expectations
- Under the guidance of a Buyer, build a balanced range reflective of market mindset and department strategy
- At least 2 years at Assistant Buyer level
- Experience in working over multiple product categories
- Ability to drive department performance autonomously, taking commercial decisions to meet financial parameters
- Ability to seek advice when necessary, and present to senior management, taking feedback on board where necessary
- Knows, accepts, and adheres to all policies, procedures, guidelines and standards
- Sound commercial acumen and business judgement
- Results-driven and ability to multitask
- Ability to manage a high workload and can work to tight deadlines
