**Job Description** About this opportunity**

The primary purpose of the Operational Excellence Lead is to identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Recycling Division with a focus on the Circular Plastics Australia joint venture. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing strategies that enhance productivity, optimize processes, and ensure compliance with quality and environmental standards across our 3 sites - Laverton, Altona and Albury.

**Your key responsibilities will be to**:

- Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational performance, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to align operational excellence initiatives with the company’s strategic goals.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of operational improvements.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on performance metrics to the SLT, highlighting areas of success and opportunities for further improvement.
- Work closely with production, quality assurance, laboratory, supply chain, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless implementation of improvement initiatives.
- Develop and execute change management plans, including communication strategies and training programs
- Stay abreast of technological advancements in recycled plastic resin manufacturing and evaluate their potential benefits.

**Your skills and experience**

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

- Proven track record of implementing successful operational improvement programs in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the recycled plastic resin industry or a similar field.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to drive change and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Financial acumen and budget management skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software for performance measurement and process optimisation.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred), Business Administration, or equivalent experience, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Relevant certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt are highly desirable.
- Additional qualifications in project management or operational excellence would be advantageous.
