**The opportunity**

We have a new opportunity for a permanent, full-time UX/UI Designer to join the SCATS Experience Design team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of User Experience your responsibilities in this role will include the research and design of the SCATS product suite; uncovering the needs of SCATS users and translating them into user-centred designs. SCATS has multiple user-types and a wide and well-established user base. This role will enable you to conduct user research, map the user journey of each user type, create high-fidelity prototypes, validate designs through usability testing, expand on the SCATS design system, and work in cross-functional delivery teams in the development and release of new products and features across the SCATS platform.

Your role will include:

- Contributing to the UX strategy for a global product used in over 30 countries
- Working in an established team of UX and UI Designers
- Discovering user requirements and collaborating with a cross functional team in the delivery of user-centred products and solutions.
- Conducting end-to-end product design initiatives through discovery, ideation, validation, refinement and iterative development and delivery.
- Improving user journeys across the SCATS platform, optimising SCATS IA, creating wireframes and UI designs to drive improvements in customer experience.
- Contribute to and upholding UX and UI design standards, processes and practices for the SCATS UX and UI team.
- Designing visually appealing and engaging user-centred products and solutions.
- Being responsible for design decisions during the software development lifecycle.
- Creating prototypes and conducting usability testing to ensure all designs meet user requirements.
- Working with and continuing to develop the SCATS Design System.
- Collaborating with system architects, software and test engineers and end-users to generate acceptance test requirements to ensure the user requirements have been met.
- Ensuring UX and UI designs are followed throughout the software development lifecycle to deliver an as-designed product.

**About you**

The skills and experience we are looking for include:

- A firm understanding of the design thinking process.
- The ability to conduct user research and usability testing.
- Skills in research synthesis to inform design solutions.
- Collaboration skills and the ability work with a diverse team of designers, product owners, product managers, developers and stakeholders.
- Information Architecture (IA) improvement and User journey mapping.
- The ability to produce wireframes, interactive prototypes and refined UI designs
- Experience creating interaction design patterns

Desirable skills
- Experience building and maintaing Design Systems.

**Salary and Benefits**

The salary for this position is TfNSW Grade 9 ($142,178.00 - $159,238.00) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
