**About the role**
We have an exciting opportunity for a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to support our growing team, working closely with our Services to help communicate and realise our vision. It is an exciting time to join us as we are embarking on some major change management processes and you can be a part of it
If you love health and safety in addition to coaching, mentoring, and supporting people to assist them in delivering their responsibilities, then this is the role for you. Reporting to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team Leader, you will have a natural passion for safety, fostering and promoting a culture of zero harm in the workplace. Our HSW function covers the full breadth of WHS and you will be required to problem solve and come up with practical solutions that ensure compliance. It’s a role in which you have to think on your feet and proactively find solutions to issues as and when they arise.
This role is required to approach the main objectives by:
- Threading the organisation's values through all practices;
- Ensuring our customers (workforce, residents, young people and community) are at the centre of all actions and solutions; and
- Facilitating an environment that brings the organisation's postures of welcome, wellbeing, home, community and faith to our customers.
The position is based in our beautiful Head Office in Kenmore with work from home options, however, some travel will occasionally be required. Talk to us to find out more.
**About you**
To thrive in this role, you will have a sound technical knowledge of, and significant generalist work experience with Health and Safety practices, processes and cultural engagement. You will be solution-oriented and able to prioritise and multi-task.
With your positive and professional attitude, you understand that not everything will be perfect but you keep chipping away nonetheless. As an experienced manager of both cultural and operational change, you have realistic expectations and are able to take the business on the journey with you - through innovation, collaboration, and leadership.
You will have a passion for how things work, and a curious and critical mind that seeks to understand how we ensure delivery of safe, reliable and sustainable outcomes as an organisation. Being a natural collaborator, your ability to foster positive relationships across all levels of the business will see you succeed. We're also looking for your passion for safety and continuous improvement, as this forms the direction of our overall safety strategy and goals.
Whilst your technical expertise will give you the knowledge of how to assess, interpret and deliver on H&S strategies, you will be part of a dynamic, professional and fun team.
To be suitable for this position, your qualifications for the role will consist of:
- Degree qualification in Workplace Health and Safety or related discipline, or relevant equivalent work experience;
- Current driver's licence; and
- Demonstrated experience in legislative requirements or minimum five years’ experience in a similar industry preferred.
Importantly, you will be someone who closely aligns with our organisational values of: Unconditional Love, Continual Innovation, Mutual Trust, Wise Stewardship and Safety.
- Under Churches of Christ policy and/or the applicable public health directions, team members are required to be vaccinated for Covid-19. As part of the recruitment processes we ask that you provide evidence that your vaccination meets the requirements of Churches of Christ policy or the applicable public health direction._
