The Department also incorporates the International Centre for Research on Organizational Discourse, Strategy & Change (ICRODSC), the Melbourne International Business Research Unit (MIBRU), the Melbourne Human Resource Management Unit (MHRMU) and the Social Investment Research Group (SIRG).

**About the Role**
The Engagement Coordinator is a key member of a small team of professional staff tasked with providing high-quality support services to the Department. The role is primarily responsible for the coordination of activities relating to the Department of Management and Marketing’s engaged teaching and research agenda. Working under the broad direction of the Department Services Manager, the incumbent will build strong relationships with a range of academic staff and other key stakeholders across the Department, Faculty and broader University community to develop a culture of continuous improvement that drives the delivery of high-quality research and engagement support services

Responsibilities include:

- Develop and oversee the implementation of a plan for the Department’s research and engagement portfolio in partnership with key stakeholders and decision-makers, including the Department Services Manager, Head of Department, Deputy Head of Department (Research and Engagement), and Deputy Head of Department (Teaching and Learning).
- Develop and oversee initiatives to support higher-quality outcomes in industry engaged teaching and research, liaising with key stakeholders from Business Development, the Melbourne School of Professional and Continuing Education (MSPACE), Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (RIC), the Faculty’s Research Development Unit, to explore strategies for continuous improvement.
- Act as coordinator and administrator for contract research arrangements for Department staff, with responsibility for coordination of contract administration, financial administration and records obligations across Faculty’s Research Development Unit, Post Award Finance, RIC and Legal Services, as required.
- Work in consultation with stakeholders to review or establish common protocols and procedures for the effective management of research, engagement and research training activities.

**About You**
To be successful in this role, the incumbent will have strong problem-solving and organisational skills, be passionate about supporting research, continuous improvement and innovation, with a proven record of successfully influencing and engaging others. A strong customer-centric focus will ensure the establishment of strong working relationships, seeking advice from others as required.

You will also have:

- A degree in a relevant discipline with substantial relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience in a similar role and/or education/training.
- Excellent time management skills, including the ability to prioritise workloads, organise others to meet deadlines and follow tasks through to completion, and the ability to work well under pressure and exercise autonomous judgement without compromising on quality.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, influence and maintain positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders to build common understanding and consensus.
- Demonstrated ability to implement operational plans, policies, procedures and initiatives.
- High-level verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information concisely and interact effectively with a range of people from all levels of the organisation.
