Job Description Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Manager to join Service Stream’s head office based in Melbourne, VIC.
About the Role

The role is responsible for efficient and effective management of the payroll function, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with statutory regulations and Company Policies.

A key focus is on both operational and strategic leadership, as demonstrated through execution of payroll processes, development of Team members, promoting a professional, high-functioning and collaborative culture, maintaining an effective control environment and service levels, and focussing on continuous improvement through re-design of processes, automation and better use of assets / business tools

Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Melbourne, VIC

Reporting Line: General Manager Business Services

Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the day-to-day operation and performance of the Payroll function.
- Lead and direct the Payroll Team to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, provision of reports and customer service.
- Ensure function compliance of Company Policies, payroll legislation, enterprise agreements, and employer obligations in respect to PAYG withholding, payroll tax, superannuation, WorkCover, salary sacrifice arrangements, etc...
- Ensure integrity and security of payroll data and systems, at all times.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the capabilities of Team members.
- Continually assess opportunities for improvement, value add and growth through best practice Policy, procedures, systems, etc...
- Actively participate in relevant projects to enhance payroll and broader business objectives and outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will also demonstrate and possess the following:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a payroll function.
- Professional payroll certification desirable.
- Chris21 and WorkDay experience advantageous
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function deliverables, regulations, and systems.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership, Team development skills.
- Proactive nature, inquisitive mind, and continuous improvement disposition.
- Adaptable, positive can-do attitude, aptitude to positively influence others.
- Ability to work in a team with focus on providing excellent customer service
- Foster ethos of positive business partnership.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
