**About the Role**:
**The Principal Advisor has the following key responsibilities**:
- Prepare and provide high level advice and support to the Assistant Director-General and other senior officers of Schools and Student Support Division with respect to the statewide implementation of strategic policy initiatives as they relate to state schooling including Australian government and whole of government initiatives, emerging initiatives and schooling policies and procedures.
- Manage and quality assure the preparation of high-level responses, reports, submissions, briefings and correspondence, as well as responses to the annual cycle of corporate strategic, budgeting and reporting requirements.
- Respond to and coordinate responses to complex and sensitive issues and complaints emanating from the Office of the Minister, Director-General, Deputy Director-General and other high-level sources.
- Develop, maintain and foster effective networks, consultation and liaison between the division, other program areas overseeing state schooling, other government departments, State and Commonwealth and other key stakeholders and partners in the support of the department's strategic agenda.
