Principal Business Support Advisor

As the Principal Business Support Advisor (Budget) your role supports the Business Manager in providing financial management advice on budgeting, fiscal strategies to support business requirements, management accounting issues related to OIR directorates and provide financial reporting, undertake forecasting and analysis. The position also works collaboratively and effectively within and across business streams within Office of Industrial Relations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide leadership, direction, coordination and advice on the development, implementation and ongoing operations of budget management and performance including maintenance of both SAP and Tridata systems
- Build and foster cooperative working relationships with stakeholders.
- Develop and implement costing methodologies designed to determine cost of outputs and influence management decisions in relation to budget allocations and performance.
- Assist with the development of systems, process and tools for the management accounting function.
- Identify and provide advice on strategic resourcing issues that impact on funding; develop strategies and proposals to address identified issues.
- Undertake complex research activities and prepare submissions, reports and briefing materials for high level advice to senior officers and forums on finance, budget development and management issues.
- Provide analysis and advice on organisational and business unit financial and budgetary performance and financial management; including the preparation of content for the monthly business report.
- Contribute to the financial management requirements of the annual State Budget for the preparation of the Budget papers, Annual Report, briefing notes to the Minister in relation to the Cabinet Budget Review Committee and the Estimates Committee hearing
- Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of the team(s) over which you have responsibility. This includes ensuring you and your team members are aware of and observing their responsibilities and obligations including under relevant OIR HSW policies and procedures.
