The Principal Advisor will work within the Central Recruitment Team to attract, recruit and retain Child Safety Officers. The principal advisor plays a pivotal role in guiding and managing the Student Placement Program and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Staff and Student Career Program, both critical talent pipelines to the department. Both programs operate to attract new talent to the department and work to offer new opportunities and career progression for existing staff. The Principal Advisor will also provide project management skills to implement strategic initiatives and objectives.
**As a Principal Advisor you will**:
Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative and effective workplace policies, practices and procedures.
Deliver contemporary culturally appropriate advice, support and consulting services to executive, hiring managers, and applicants relating to vacancy management and recruitment and selection for roles across the Department.
Supervise the Senior Advisors and provide training, assistance, support and mentoring to the team. Provide advice on strategic and operational planning for advertising and recruitment by conducting business reviews with regions to assess risk; review strategies; and identify potential efficiencies and improvement opportunities.
Develop strategic relationships and engage with key internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative recruitment strategies. Provide clear communication and ongoing reinforcement of identified objectives, timeframes, methods and standards to adhere to.
Represent the department across a range of arenas including at career and job fairs, and recruitment/industry events to source talent, foster strategic partnerships and build our employer brand.
